Job Overview:
The Bartender is responsible for crafting and serving a variety of beverages and food items to patrons at the bar, dining area, or outdoor seating, adhering to the standards set by the establishment. This role reports directly to the Food & Beverage Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create an inviting atmosphere and deliver exceptional service by possessing a thorough understanding of the resort's amenities and dining options, while engaging with guests enthusiastically.
- Proactively ensure that the quality of food service consistently meets or surpasses the expectations of both guests and staff.
- Welcome and serve guests with energy and friendliness; actively listen to their preferences and suggest drink options.
- Verify the age of customers to ensure compliance with legal alcohol serving regulations.
- Identify and report any safety concerns or customer issues to a supervisor promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to align on a shared vision, address current needs, and strategize for upcoming Food & Beverage events.
- Handle incoming inquiries related to food and beverage services.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages; take orders from guests and staff; manage to-go orders; restock bar snacks as needed.
- Process cash and card transactions accurately, ensuring correct charges and change for guests; maintain cash register balance.
- Conduct inventory and procure liquor and supplies while ensuring quality within budgetary constraints.
- Maintain cleanliness in the work area; dispose of waste, wash glassware and equipment, and sanitize the bar area in accordance with safety protocols.
- Assist in organizing and executing all Food & Beverage events (e.g., corporate gatherings, weddings).
- Prepare beverages and supplies for banquets and special functions.
- Participate in culinary exhibitions and training sessions to stay updated on industry trends as required.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

- One year of bartending experience in a resort setting preferred.
- Must meet state and federal age requirements for serving alcohol.
- Current Food Handlers Card and TIPS Certification required.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and calculating discounts.
- Ability to foster a positive work environment through a friendly demeanor.
- Effective communication skills for interactions with guests and team members.
- Ability to provide guidance to colleagues in a professional manner.
- Proficient in reading and understanding instructions and correspondence.
- Attention to detail and comfort in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible schedule availability, including evenings and weekends.
Work Environment:
This position typically operates in an indoor restaurant setting, with potential outdoor responsibilities during events, exposing employees to varying weather conditions. The noise level may be high at times.
Physical Demands:
The physical requirements of this role include regular visual, auditory, and verbal communication. The position is active, requiring prolonged standing and walking, as well as bending and reaching. Frequent hand washing is necessary. Clear communication is essential, even in noisy environments.
