Firefighter/AEMT or Firefighter/Paramedic

Job Summary:

Kaysville City Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter/AEMT or Firefighter/Paramedic to join our team. As a Firefighter/AEMT or Firefighter/Paramedic, you will be responsible for performing a variety of firefighting and emergency medical services duties to protect the lives and property of city residents.

• Respond to emergency calls and perform firefighting duties, including laying and connecting water hoses, operating pumps, and rescuing occupants from fire danger.
• Provide emergency medical aid, including evaluating patients' conditions, administering aid as per protocol, and transporting patients to hospitals.
• Conduct pre-incident inspections on various types of facilities and advise residents or owners of necessary actions to conform to standards.
• Prepare and submit reports related to fire incidents and pre-fire plan activity.
• Perform general maintenance tasks, including painting, servicing equipment, cleaning, polishing, testing, and repairing firefighting apparatus.

• Utah State Certified Advanced EMT or Paramedic.
• Utah State Certified Firefighter I & II.
• Utah State Certified Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations.
• Valid State of Utah driver's license.
• PALS/ALS certification within 12 months of hire.
• Wildland Firefighter 1 (NWCG FFT2) certification within 12 months of hire.
• Ability to work up to 1508 hours per year.

The individual is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; walk, sit and talk or hear. Must regularly lift and or move equipment and/or persons weighing 150 pounds or more.

Functions of the position generally performed in a controlled environment but subject to all seasonal and weather extremes and exposure to extremely hazardous conditions and materials.
