About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Health Nurse to join our team at Abbott. As an Occupational Health Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing a safe and healthy working environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer the procedures of the occupational and environmental health and safety program consistent with the company's general policies concerning health services.
  • Collaborate in the design of controls for occupational injury and illness prevention.
  • Maintain and safeguard confidentiality of health information consistent with laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrate compliance with state laws governing nursing practice.
  • Plan and implement health promotion and disease prevention strategies and programs.
  • Coordinate the site case management program.
  • Identify changes in case management practice and treatment plans to bring about appropriate care and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Assess the health needs of employees and employee populations.
  • Implement occupational and environmental health and safety education and training.
  • Monitor the work environment to assure the health and safety of employees.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to foster the provision of effective health, safety, and environmental services.
  • Collaborate with researchers and other members of the occupational and environmental health and safety team in participating in research.
  • Identify resources that describe relevant research findings and apply them to practice.
  • Maintain awareness of technological and professional changes associated with occupational and environmental health and safety.
  • Monitor and document the quality and effectiveness of care, services, and products provided to client(s).
  • Assume leadership role in advancing profession.
  • Use an ethical decision-making framework in all activities.
Requirements
  • Education Level: Bachelors Degree in Nursing
  • 4+ years experience in occupational health
  • Must have the ability to execute highly complex or specialized projects.
  • Basic knowledge of related fields i.e. safety, ergonomics, toxicology, industrial hygiene, epidemiology etc.
