Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Millwright Specialist to join our team at Middle River Aerostructure Systems. As a Millwright Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, laying out, rigging, moving, erecting, and installing complex equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Study blueprints, bills of material, sketches, or specification sheets to determine layouts for complex equipment and machinery.
  • Make floor layouts, including location of attachment holes, and machinery and/or equipment location layouts on various assignments.
  • Rig and move heavy, cumbersome machinery and equipment.
  • Study blueprints, sketches, specifications, and bills of material to plan the sequence of operations when erecting and fabricating components of acid, plating, and sodium nitrate tanks, cranes, hoists, metal stairways, steel balconies, heavy gauge steel racks, partitions, steel work platforms, and steel beams for floor supports.
  • Install wall fittings, brackets, etc., used for the attachment of heavy equipment or machinery.
  • Analyze and repair cranes, overhead conveyors, hangar-type doors, sodium nitrate furnaces, monorails, and chain falls.
  • Load test cables and monorail assemblies using necessary weights and replace if cables or component parts are found defective.
  • Build structures and rigging as required for the moving of complex types of equipment and/or machinery.
  • Direct the work of lesser-skilled employees in the performance of the above duties.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • 5+ years of Millwright experience, including Carpentry, ability to read blueprints, fabricating, and/or sheetrock skill set, drop ceilings, and industrial painting (including offices) experience.
  • Mechanical ability to repair a roll-up door is required.
  • Continuous physical effort is required to operate equipment, load and unload trucks and trailers, position trailers, etc.
