We are seeking a highly skilled and bilingual Registered Dental Assistant/Dental Assistant to join our team at Smart Start Dental in Oakland, CA.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, assisting dentists during dental procedures, preparing and sterilizing dental instruments and equipment, and providing patient care and comfort before, during, and after dental treatments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during dental procedures, including examinations, fillings, crowns, and extractions.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment.
- Take, develop, and mount dental x-rays.
- Provide patient care and comfort before, during, and after dental treatments.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Follow all infection control and safety procedures.
Requirements
- Active California Registered Dental Assistant License (for RDA)
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or completion of a Dental Assistant program (for DA)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is Required
- Previous experience in pediatric and/or general dentistry required
- Upbeat personality a must
- Enjoy working with children and providing a positive dental experience for them.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- X-Ray Certification required
- CPR Certification required
- Sealant Certification preferred
