Job Summary

Cone Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic sonographic examinations to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality routine and special ultrasound examinations following established protocols and procedures to minimize repeat examinations and assist in the accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during ultrasound procedures by explaining the process, addressing concerns, and positioning patients correctly to promote a positive patient experience.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and optimize imaging parameters to produce high-quality images and ensure accurate interpretations by radiologists or physicians.
  • Document and record accurate patient information, examination details, and preliminary findings in Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), and resolve any errors related to the final product being sent to PACS to maintain proper patient records and ensure comprehensive documentation for effective communication and continuity of care.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with the healthcare team, including radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to ensure coordinated patient care and prompt sharing of critical findings.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Licenses/Certifications: BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider. ARDMS Ultrasound Technologist, ARRT RT(S) Ultrasound Technologist or CCI RVSRVT/RVS Registered Vascular Technologist.
