Type of Position: Part-time Regular, Non-Exempt
Work Schedule, Hours per week: Varies depending on department needs, 20-25 hours per week
Pay Range: $16.50-$20.63 based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: The Lead Guard plays a crucial role in providing oversight, direction, and support to Museum Guard personnel during evenings and weekends when other administrative staff are unavailable. This role also acts as the primary contact for the Museum during these times.
Required Qualifications: Must possess customer service experience and have a passion for serving the public.
Must demonstrate a solid employment history with excellent attendance and reliability.
Ideal candidates will have 2-5 years of supervisory experience in a customer service environment, with a strong desire to lead a team during engaging exhibitions and events.
Availability for evening and weekend shifts is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in an art-related field is preferred.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Building manager/guard staff supervisor during evenings and weekends. Responsibilities include: A. Preparing the Museum for daily operations by opening spaces and ensuring appropriate lighting and decorum. B. Providing supervision and guidance to Museum Guard staff during times when administrative staff are absent. C. Contacting facilities management for building-related emergencies during off-hours.
- Ensuring the protection of artwork. Responsibilities include: A. Observing visitors to ensure the safety of the artwork. B. Enforcing museum regulations in a confident, calm, and friendly manner. C. Maintaining order in assigned areas by addressing inappropriate behavior effectively. D. Acting as a deterrent to vandalism and ensuring proper decorum. E. Remaining attentive and alert at designated posts.
- Incident reporting. Responsibilities include: A. Notifying supervisors of all incidents as they occur. B. Completing Incident Report Forms at the end of each shift.
- Customer service. Responsibilities include: A. Providing museum information to guests upon arrival. B. Directing visitors to galleries, restrooms, information desks, and other points of interest.
*Duties and responsibilities may be modified as necessary by management, either formally or informally, at any time. Scheduling, shift assignments, and work locations may also change as required by business needs.
