Fibertek is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our C5ISR Facilities team at Fort Belvoir, VA. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for performing rough, finish, repair, and general maintenance carpentry tasks, as well as other facilities support duties.
Key Responsibilities:- Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools.
- Reads blueprints, sketches, and building plans for material required and dimensions, and estimates materials needed to perform tasks.
- Removes and replaces sections of structures as needed, removes debris, and cleans work sites and tools after completion.
- Frames walls, installs insulation, ceiling tiles, drywall, subflooring, flooring, windows, doors, doorframes, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware.
- Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
- Assists other facilities maintenance team members and trades in projects as required.
- Follows all safety protocols and protection measures, and assists with or advises safety inspections as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; applicable training.
- Valid driver's license.
- Minimum 5 years of experience.
- Schedule is Monday to Friday.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Production shop, laboratory, office, and outdoor environments.
- Physical demands include bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
- Lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds required; heavier items with assistance.
