Job Title: Carpenter - Junior

Fibertek is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our C5ISR Facilities team at Fort Belvoir, VA. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for performing rough, finish, repair, and general maintenance carpentry tasks, as well as other facilities support duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools.
  • Reads blueprints, sketches, and building plans for material required and dimensions, and estimates materials needed to perform tasks.
  • Removes and replaces sections of structures as needed, removes debris, and cleans work sites and tools after completion.
  • Frames walls, installs insulation, ceiling tiles, drywall, subflooring, flooring, windows, doors, doorframes, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware.
  • Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
  • Assists other facilities maintenance team members and trades in projects as required.
  • Follows all safety protocols and protection measures, and assists with or advises safety inspections as required.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; applicable training.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Schedule is Monday to Friday.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements/Demands:
  • Production shop, laboratory, office, and outdoor environments.
  • Physical demands include bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
  • Lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds required; heavier items with assistance.
