Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough reviews of financial documents and clinical research protocols, ensuring compliance with informed consent and billing guidelines.
- Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology and research billing language.
- Analyze study documents (including protocols, consent forms, budgets, clinical trial agreements, and coverage analyses) to identify research-related charges affecting the organization, ensuring compliant billing practices.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the rules and regulations governing various payors, including Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and commercial payors, as well as Medicare's Clinical Trial Policy and related guidance.
Act as a valuable resource for research teams, assisting in the identification of items and services related to research and the assignment of appropriate payors.
Stay informed and proficient in relevant systems such as Epic, clinical trial management systems, charge master/fee schedules, and pertinent government and non-government resources.
