Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and patient Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team at the Anderson Center for Autism. As a DSP, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with autism in achieving their goals and leading fulfilling lives.
Responsibilities:
- Provide supportive care and assistance to individuals with autism in various daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and recreational activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes independence, social interaction, and personal growth.
- Implement individualized support plans and behavioral strategies under the guidance of experienced professionals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of individual progress and any incidents in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- NYS Driver's License
- Must be 21yrs old or older.
- Must be able to work 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to support individuals with autism.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviors with empathy and professionalism.
- Must pass background checks and meet all requirements for employment.
