We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Surgical Registered Nurse to join our team at Travel Nurse Across America. As a MedSurg RN, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of patients, including pre- and post-operative patients, and provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide bedside care for patients, including conducting patient assessments and prioritizing data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
- Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
- Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs as needed.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examination and treatment of patients.
- Educate patients on surgical procedures and provide support to patients' families.
- Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by physicians.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) with relevant experience.
- Current RN licensure in the United States.
- 2 years of experience as a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
As a Medical Surgical Travel Nurse, you will work in a fast-paced environment treating patients who may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative. You will be required to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty. You will also be required to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
