Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and assembling high-precision optical and mechanical components, including spectrometers, diffraction gratings, miniaturized motor assemblies, ESD-sensitive opto-sensors (CCDs and PDAs), and electronic boards in accordance with established work instructions.
- Utilizing epoxy resins, adhesives, and small machinery for assembly and packaging, while handling both delicate and heavy components.
- Executing precise optical alignments as part of the spectrometer manufacturing process.
- Conducting optimizations and testing using automated software and specialized test equipment.
- Employing computer systems, Excel, and customer-specific software to document traceability and performance metrics (pass/fail criteria).
Required Skills and Experience:
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Proficiency in performing fine optical alignments with meticulous attention to detail.
- Capability to lift heavy equipment safely.
- Strong comprehension skills for reading and following written procedures and verbal instructions.
- Adherence to strict ESD and cleanroom protocols.
- Expertise in optical alignment with a solid foundation in electronics and handling small components.
- Ability to interpret CAD drawings and utilize a Bill of Materials for mechanical assembly of electro-mechanical and optical sub-assemblies.
