Job Overview

Shift: 1st shift, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Position: Electrician

Department: Maintenance

Reporting To: Manager / Maintenance & Facilities

Key Objectives

The Electrician will work autonomously to diagnose and resolve electrical issues, as well as to repair and maintain equipment and control systems.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties Include:

  • Receiving guidance and instructions from the Supervisor for both emergency and scheduled electrical repairs, installations, and machinery assembly.
  • Executing tasks in a professional manner while adhering to NEC and OSHA standards.
  • Implementing Lockout/Tagout procedures and following industry-standard safety protocols when servicing machines or electrical systems.
  • Inspecting, testing, and replacing defective components, wiring, circuit boards, and other related parts in electronic equipment.
Continuous Improvement
  • Adhering to company practices and suggesting enhancements for operational efficiency.
  • Engaging in Lean initiatives and projects.
Additional Duties
  • Upholding compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, safety standards, and maintaining cleanliness in the work area.
  • Assisting or providing instruction to other staff members as necessary.
  • Performing other related tasks as required.
  • Maintaining consistent attendance is essential for this role.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Possession of at least an E2 State of Connecticut electrical license is required.
  • High School diploma, Trade School certification, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in repairing industrial machinery and motor controls.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and programming PLCs is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Physical Requirements
  • Visual acuity (corrected) to interpret instructions, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
  • Physical capability to work in confined spaces and at heights using ladders or scaffolding as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs without assistance.
