We are seeking a highly skilled Electrophysiology Device Specialist to join our team at Keck Medicine of USC.
Job OverviewThe successful candidate will work closely with cardiologists to provide monitoring and programming for device patients. This includes evaluating and optimizing programming for pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators, and cardiac resynchronization devices.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and optimize programming for all device patients, including pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators, and cardiac resynchronization devices.
- Check and interpret event log books, identify lead failures, and assess appropriate magnet rates for implanted pacemakers/AICDs.
- Program and reprogram devices based on interrogated data of implanted pacemakers/AICDs, turn on/off shock therapy for AICDs, and reprogram LV leads to avoid diaphragmatic stimulation.
- Interpret histograms and program rate response accordingly for implanted pacemakers/AICDs.
- Responsible for remote monitoring of applicable device patients via the Internet and assist in training cardiology fellows in the device clinic.
- High school or equivalent.
- Specialized/technical training in Cardiac Electrophysiology Technology (CEPT) Program preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Device Tech, combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Able to use computer systems or specified equipment that is essential for related areas.
- Must have knowledge of hospital radiology techniques, theory, and procedures.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, invasive cardiovascular practices/techniques/pressures, basic analysis, and emergency protocols.
- Familiar with EP equipment and troubleshooting.
