Position Overview

Medical Behavioral Hospital of Mishawaka is seeking skilled IOP therapists to enhance our clinical services team, providing exemplary care to patients and their families throughout their recovery journey. The IOP Therapist will deliver individual, group, and family therapy to both adults and adolescents within our physician-directed intensive outpatient program. Therapists will employ best practices in group counseling techniques and will be responsible for completing master treatment plans, conducting daily suicide risk assessments, and managing discharge planning and insurance pre-authorization/reviews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments to document patient history and identify treatment focus by interviewing patients and their family members. Communicate with physicians regarding patient progress, needs, concerns, and potential issues.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop treatment plans, including discharge plans, based on psychosocial assessments and accepted social work interventions.
  • Facilitate group and family process-oriented therapies and conduct educational and didactic groups for patients and family members using various professional treatment modalities.
  • Provide social work services including short-term individual counseling, group therapy, community resource planning, and crisis intervention.
  • Develop and coordinate individualized discharge plans by utilizing treatment team and chart information to assess the patient's aftercare needs.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of referral resources within the service area.
  • Stay updated on Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party reimbursement sources.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in writing individualized, behavioral, and measurable treatment goals based on psychosocial assessments and psychiatric evaluations.
  • Conduct daily group therapy sessions and individual or family therapy sessions.
  • Obtain insurance benefit information, authorization for treatment, and perform ongoing utilization reviews.
  • Ensure all progress notes are filed in the medical record within 24 hours of service.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling required.
  • Clinical Social Worker Licensure preferred. CPR and CPI certification to be obtained during orientation.
  • Preferred experience of 3 years in healthcare and mental health settings.
  • Experience in developing and administering treatment plans.
  • Proficient in individual and group counseling techniques.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
