About the Position

This role is available at a Military Treatment Facility under DHA, located in South Carolina. As a Dentist (General Practice), you will be responsible for providing dental care to patients.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Dentist to join our team. The successful candidate will have a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). They will also possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

The ideal candidate will have completed a 2-year residency program in dentistry, oral health, craniofacial sciences, or a related medical science. Alternatively, they may have two years of professional dentistry experience and/or training, equivalent to the next lower grade level (GP-11).

In this role, you will evaluate, prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases, injuries, and disorders of the oral cavity and maxillofacial area. Your responsibilities will include removing decay, filling cavities, straightening, extracting, and repairing teeth, treating gum diseases, performing corrective surgery, making measurements/models for dentures to replace missing teeth, administering anesthetics, writing prescriptions, and performing other requirements of the position.

Requirements
  • You must be able to distinguish shades of color.
  • You will need to have a valid driver's license.
  • A pre-placement medical examination is required.
  • Immunization screening is required.
  • Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross.
  • Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.

Salary: $175,000 - $225,000 per year, depending on experience.
