Job Summary:

The Social Service Liaison plays a vital role in improving access to mental health services within the shelter. This position requires exceptional communication and organizational skills to assist families navigating multiple systems while coping with the stressors of homelessness.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to understand family strengths and service needs.
  • Provide short-term counseling, crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning, and psychoeducation for families.
  • Collaborate with ACS and/or preventive services agencies when a family is child welfare involved; participate in ACS conferences to advocate for the family.
  • Makes referrals and linkages to enhance engagement and quality.
  • Facilitate group work with young people and fathers.
  • Communicate and collaborate with service providers to ensure quality.
  • Provide education/training to other staff.
  • Facilitate quarterly family meetings to discuss planning efforts and progress.

Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work.
  • Licensure (LMSW) or within three months of hire.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development, emotional/behavioral health, mental health, parent-child relationships, family dynamics, and diagnostic classification.
  • Strong expertise in strength-based, solution-focused, and family-centered practice.
  • Knowledge of guidelines, policies, and regulations relating to child welfare, safety, permanency, and well-being.
  • Knowledge and experience working with diverse cultures and ethnicities.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • First Aid/CPR certified.

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 per year.
