About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Optum, a leading health services company. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the functions of our mental health and specialty pharmacy, primarily through dispensing medical prescriptions and performing necessary clerical duties under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to all consumers and members of the clinic staff, ensuring a positive and supportive experience.
  • Prescription Filling: Fill prescription orders and make them available for verification under direct supervision of the registered pharmacist, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Inventory Management: Order, receive, and store incoming pharmacy supplies, as well as verify medication stock and enter data in computer to maintain inventory records.
  • Wholesaler Management: Receive and process wholesaler medication orders, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Pharmacy Compliance: Work with the Pharmacist to assist in the pharmacy functions and keep the pharmacy in compliance with all federal and state requirements.
  • Clerical Duties: Perform various clerical duties relating to the department, including communication with strong professional verbal and written skills.
  • Delivery Services: May need to make occasional deliveries when needed, using your own vehicle and being reimbursed for mileage.
Requirements
  • Active License: Hold an active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Virginia.
  • Experience: Have at least 6 months of Pharmacy Technician experience.
  • Transportation: Have access to reliable transportation and a valid US driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification: Possess National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
