Job Description

We are seeking a Public Safety Coordinator to join our team at the City of Hamtramck, MI. This role requires exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work well under pressure in emergency situations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and responding to emergency calls, dispatching police or fire departments as necessary, and providing administrative support to the Police Department.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Receiving incoming 911 calls and dispatching police or fire vehicles as required.
  • Providing effective communication with callers and ensuring accurate completion of related department logs and records.
  • Operating computer terminals, radios, and other communication equipment.
  • Transmitting and receiving routine and emergency communications over the police radio.

The ideal candidate will possess a valid MI Driver's License and be able to pass a background check, psychological evaluation, and drug screen.

Estimated salary range: $50,000 - $70,000 per year.
