Job Title: Adjunct Instructor

Join the University of the District of Columbia as an Adjunct Instructor and contribute to the education and development of students in the Direct Healthcare Pathway.

Job Summary:

We are seeking enthusiastic and qualified part-time instructors to teach courses in one or more of the following areas:

  • EKG Technician
  • Dialysis Technician
  • Medical Assistant
  • Nursing Assistant
  • Patient Care Technician
  • Pharmacy Technician
  • Phlebotomy Technician
Responsibilities:

As an Adjunct Instructor, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing hands-on, guided, differentiated instruction to students
  • Participating in evaluating and selecting assigned text and instructional materials
  • Preparing course materials and lesson plans
  • Conducting efficient and effective classroom management
  • Providing students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes
  • Using the institution's learning management system to post syllabus, assignments, and other materials
  • Delivering course content using a variety of teaching styles
  • Regularly communicating and referring students to university and division-wide student success opportunities
  • Maintaining records of enrollment and attendance, assessments, and grades
Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in the subject matter area
  • Prior teaching experience in the subject field/industry or demonstrate evidence of teaching potential
  • Current certification in the subject matter (certification must be the same as the course being taught)
