Medical Assistant I

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant I to join our team at North Oaks Medical Center. As a Medical Assistant I, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with patient intake, discharge, and telephone messaging
- Perform medication administration, result reporting, and authorizations
- Assist with in-office procedures, such as setting up a sterile field and assisting with Pap Smears
- Properly identify patients during each transition of care and document their information
- Obtain and record patient vital signs and document them in the patient's record
- Perform medication reconciliation and review patient past medical, social, surgical, and family history
- Educate and assist patients with MyChart sign up
- Ensure patient/caregiver comfort in the exam room prior to exiting
- Perform in-office testing, including CLIA waived testing, and label specimens
- Review and initial each page of the AVS and other discharge paperwork
- Clean and disinfect the patient treatment area and reusable equipment
- Assist with ordering, stocking, and maintaining supplies within the clinic
- Perform quality controls as indicated within the clinic
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Complete a Medical Assistant program or Nursing Program (LPN, RN)
- 3 years experience as an MA in a clinic setting
- Enrollment in an accredited Nursing program and completion of first clinical rotation
Must be able to maintain a cheerful, positive attitude while performing duties in a high volume practice. Must be able to work efficiently and cheerfully in a busy environment with a high level of patient contact.
Responsibilities- Responsible for following all policies and procedures to assist in maintaining a safe environment
- Safeguard and preserve confidentiality of medical records and patient information at all times
- Must be motivated self-starter able to perform well with minimal direct supervision
