About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Quartz Plant Operator to join our team on the 2nd shift. As a key member of our production team, you will work closely with the control room operator to run, analyze, and adjust the operation of fixed heavy equipment for purifying quartz sand. Your responsibilities will include maintaining wet grinding plants, fluidized bed dryers, dry grinding plants, conveyors, bucket elevators, and other processing equipment to produce high-purity quartz sand.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to YBP and MSHA safety rules, regulations, and best practices.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on plant equipment.
- Run quality control tests on products made.
- Ground silica truck loading as needed.
- Assist with plant repairs, maintenance, and housekeeping.
- Maintain material quality.
- Communicate production and maintenance needs to plant management.
- Able to operate a fluid bed dryer.
- Ability to assist with plant repairs, maintenance, and housekeeping.
- Experience running quality control tests on products made.
- Prior experience operating asphalt, sand, or aggregate plants.
- Knowledge of aggregate dryers, screens, and conveyors.
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; climb, shovel, squat, grip, crawl, push/pull, and bend/lift up to 50 pounds.
The successful candidate will perform all work in accordance with YBP Safety policies and be capable of operating various types of heavy equipment and/or machinery. The work environment can be physically demanding, requiring exposure to heat, cold, rain, dust, wind, and other elements.
CompensationEstimated annual salary: $65,000 - $80,000 based on industry standards and location.
