Job Summary:

Methode Electronics is seeking a highly skilled Launch Manager 1 to lead core team activities and ensure program launch success requirements are met. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, program management, or related experience, with a focus on automotive products and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Core Team Activities: Establish priorities, manage conflicts, and escalate concerns to management in a timely fashion.
  • Program Management: Proactively manage the program to ensure timing and objectives are met for all customer milestones.
  • Identify and Communicate Impediments: Recognize and communicate impediments to the successful completion of program milestones.
  • Interface with Functional Disciplines: Collaborate with required functional disciplines and departments for program support.
  • Ensure Adherence to PDPLS: Ensure adherence to the Product Development and Program Launch System (PDPLS) and assure completion of all deliverables.
  • Support Master Program Timing: Assist with phase and gate reviews, and support master program timing that satisfies customer and internal requirements for product deliverables, cost performance, and timing.
  • Facilitate Interaction: Facilitate interaction between the company, customer, and plant.
  • Coordinate Communications: Coordinate and maintain communications with design and operations staff and the customer for all program activities.
  • Risk Escalation: Escalate risks of any nonconformities relating to the product, process, and system to drive actions for resolution.
  • Problem Identification and Resolution: Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system, and initiate, recommend, and provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Change Implementation: Verify the implementation of change and follow processes for documenting changes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science required.
  • Project Management Experience: 3+ years of project management, program management, or other related experience.
  • Automotive Industry Experience: Prior experience with automotive products, processes, and environment, particularly lighting (exterior/interior), electronics, injection molding, and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
  • Communication Skills: Ability to interface and effectively communicate with customers and the Methode core team at all levels.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Proficiency in structured problem-solving.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (intermediate level or higher).
  • Travel Requirements: Ability to travel up to 30% both domestic and international.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
