Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a slurry truck, performing daily pre/post trip inspections, controlling material output, and ensuring company safety rules are followed. Additionally, they will direct squeegee employees, perform minor repairs to equipment, and communicate with the line driver to prevent gutter spills.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate a slurry truck to produce high-quality material according to specifications
  • Perform daily pre/post trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT and company policies
  • Control material output to meet production requirements
  • Direct squeegee employees to produce a perfect finished product
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment as needed
  • Assist and direct the paving crew with hand work and clean up
  • Communicate with the line driver to prevent gutter spills
  • Communicate safety, quality, or production issues to the superintendent
  • Meet with the superintendent daily to establish a production plan
Qualifications:
  • Class A Commercial License
  • Excellent commercial driving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to supervise and direct squeegee employees
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience working on a slurry crew
Work Environment:
  • Works alone and with others
  • Exposed to extreme heat and cold, fumes, odors, dirt, dust, noise, wetness, and humidity
  • Standing for long periods of time in one place
  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs with assistance
