Our client, a growth-oriented organization, is seeking a talented Automation/Controls Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the team, you will design, implement, and configure new automation systems, upgrade older machinery, and enhance existing manufacturing lines in various industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build switchgear controls and control panels in accordance with customer specifications, internal standards, and industry regulations.
  • Ensure projects meet applicable UL and ANSI standards.
  • Select components, create BOM and CAD drawings that meet customer requirements and internal standards for production/manufacturing processes.
  • Reduce component material and labor costs through new designs and processes, provide technical support to assembly personnel.
  • Create vendor purchase orders and follow up on delivery.
  • Select and set protective relays and controllers.
  • Improve process flow to reduce labor hours, create production schedules, and reduce work-in-progress.
  • Write PLC programs to meet project functional requirements.
  • Write operator interface (HMI) programs for system control and metering.
  • Write operating sequences. Assist with creating project submittals and O&M Manuals.
  • Assist with factory testing and field start-ups as required.
  • Create test procedures and programs as required.

Requirements:

  • Reside in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area.
  • Hold a BS degree in Engineering (Automation, Electrical, or Mechanical).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Skilled at using Microsoft Office and Autocad software.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Willingness to work long hours and learn.
