Job Summary:

As a Respiratory Therapist with Saint Alphonsus Health System, you will provide general respiratory therapy procedures to patients as directed by physicians and protocols. This includes, but is not limited to, Non-Invasive positive pressure ventilation management (NPPV), delivery of medicated aerosols, bronchial hygiene therapy, lung expansion therapy, and basic CPR.

Key Responsibilities:

Provides respiratory therapy procedures to patients as directed by physicians and protocols.
Demonstrates ability to recognize change in patient's condition, make independent judgments, and modify care as necessary according to departmental standards and approved physician protocols.
Cleans, packages, inventories, and maintains all respiratory care equipment.
Checks, delivers, and replenishes respiratory supplies as needed.
Orders department forms and supplies weekly.

Requirements:

Graduate of or actively enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Program required.
Successful completion of the first clinical year preferred.
Holds either a provisional license to practice, as a Respiratory Therapist, per the Idaho State Board of Medicine or enrolled as a full-time student in a American Medical Association acknowledged Respiratory Therapy program.
Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.
