Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sanctions Advisory Consultant to join our team. This is an ongoing contract with a large global bank, requiring expertise in sanctions advisory services.

About the Role

This consultant will be responsible for conducting thorough research and analysis of OFAC and export control regulations. The role involves reviewing correspondence between identified parties, leading annual reviews, and assisting in the preparation of sanctions compliance training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of OFAC and export control regulations.
  • Evaluate escalations, identify their regulatory impact, and propose enhancements/solutions.
  • Resolve escalations by providing advisory recommendations to other teams.
  • Maintain meticulous records of advisory escalations and responses.
  • Review correspondence addressed to BSA Officers and Sanctions Newsletters upon request.
  • Communicate updates regarding changes to sanctions controls during meetings.
  • Lead annual reviews of the Bank's sanctions compliance policy and procedures.
  • Assist in updating the U.S. Sanctions Compliance desktop manual.
  • Aess the team with operational guidance on sanctions compliance controls.
  • Assist in the review and preparation of sanctions compliance training materials.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • 5+ years within financial services, specifically an SME within the sanctions advisory space.
  • Local to Midtown NYC and able to work in the office 5 days a week.
  • Immediately available for work.
  • Mandarin is preferred but not required.
  • Exposure to correspondent banking.
