Position Overview

Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Retail and Concessions Intern for the Spring 2025 term. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in managing merchandise and food & beverage operations within a dynamic environment. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to earn college credits through their academic institution while gaining valuable industry experience.

Key Responsibilities:

The intern will work closely with the Concessions Manager and will be trained to:

  • Assist in the receipt and storage of all food, beverage, and retail inventory; conduct monthly inventory checks and ensure proper stock rotation.
  • Support the management of daily sales costs, cash handling, reporting, and inventory control.
  • Monitor food quality to maintain compliance with company standards.
  • Regularly check the retail store to ensure it is adequately stocked and that items are properly priced.
  • Maintain positive relationships with vendors and service providers.
  • Ensure adherence to franchise agreements, contracts, and operational standards.
  • Comply with regulations set forth by relevant labor and health departments.
  • Prepare necessary documentation, maintain records, and generate reports.
  • Conduct periodic market price comparisons with local competitors.
  • Complete assigned tasks and special projects within designated timeframes as directed by the Manager.
  • Provide constructive feedback and suggestions regarding business practices and operational efficiencies.

Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled college student seeking academic credit or a recent graduate looking for practical experience.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Publisher.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with effective leadership and customer service abilities.

Physical Requirements:

The role may involve:

  • Extended working hours as needed.
  • Physical activities including walking, using hands and fingers, reaching, balancing, kneeling, and climbing stairs.
  • Lifting or moving items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, and noise levels.
