Job Summary:

Optum is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a senior role. As a Senior Infusion Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective preparation of sterile compounds for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and compound sterile medications according to company policy and regulations, including USP 797 and USP 800.
  • Maintain competency in sterile compounding and participate in ongoing training and education.
  • Participate in medication management, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining inventory of medications and supplies.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and software issues related to compounding.
  • Participate in cleaning and monitoring activities to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to triage and respond to compounding needs promptly.

Requirements:

  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician License in the state of Minnesota.
  • At least 1 year of consistent sterile compounding experience.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including 8-hour shifts between 7am-7pm weekdays with rotating weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Compounded Sterile Preparations Technician (CSPT) certification.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours with intermittent breaks.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to work independently to solve high-stakes problems.
