Job Summary

The Blood Sample Collector will perform venipunctures, heel sticks, and finger sticks to obtain blood samples for testing at the Northern Louisiana Medical Center. This role requires proper identification of patients and adherence to specimen collection procedures.

Main Responsibilities

  • Collect blood samples from patients through venipuncture, heel sticks, or finger sticks.
  • Properly identify patients and follow procedures for collection of specimens.
  • Enter information from blood collection into the laboratory computer system, including time drawn and received.
  • Collect chain of custody urine drug screens using proper collection procedures.
  • Perform other related functions as assigned by the Phlebotomy Supervisor.

Requirements

This role requires a strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting and maintain confidentiality in handling patient information.
