Job Title: Senior Business Intelligence Engineer

Job Summary:
The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining Business Intelligence systems and solutions. This individual will collaborate with business stakeholders, BI analysts, and developers to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the needs of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a strong data culture within the company by working closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.
  • Improve the capabilities and value of Business Intelligence at the organization by identifying opportunities for growth and implementing new solutions.
  • Provide quality control of solutions within the quality control framework to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Follow change management and integration management best practices to ensure seamless integration of new solutions.
  • Troubleshoot performance, operability, and accuracy of reports to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Perform administrative duties to maintain the current Business Intelligence environment, including managing access and ensuring data security.
  • Support business users to publish, refresh, change, and remove reports, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to make informed decisions.
  • Lead development on solutions with complex requirements, working closely with stakeholders to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Assist analysts outside of IT to use the enterprise data model and deliver their own solutions, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to succeed.
  • Deliver more basic reporting solutions at the direction of the BI Manager, ensuring they meet the required standards.
  • Work with business stakeholders to gather detailed requirements and design solutions that meet their needs.
  • Compare data needs against data available in enterprise assets to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Maintain an enterprise data architecture, ensuring it is up-to-date and meets the required standards.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience sustaining an enterprise data architecture, such as a common data model or data warehouse.
  • 2+ years of experience working with internal stakeholders to understand their data needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.
  • 2+ years of experience owning the full lifecycle of Business Intelligence projects/solutions.
  • 5+ years of hands-on enterprise data engineering/ETL experience and data modeling experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders and team members.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic, customer-facing role, prioritizing and managing work and stakeholders across multiple projects.
  • Capable of working within an enterprise data environment change and integration management framework.
  • Strong skills in data wrangling, Power Query and M, and data modeling and DAX.
  • Strong skills in data visualization and troubleshooting concepts.
  • Experience with SQL Server Management Studio, DAX Studio, Tabular Editor, and ALM Toolkit.
  • Comfortable working with row-level and object-level security.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a suitable field.
