Job Summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Full-Time Pharmacy Technician to work in our pharmacy at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital. The successful candidate will provide assistance to the Pharmacist in the daily operations of the pharmacy, including the preparation and filling of prescriptions, taking inventory, and processing product returns.

Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in filling prescription orders as permitted by State Boards of Pharmacy.
  • Prepare medication for dispensing, packaging, and shipment.
  • Take inventory, place orders, check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves, and remove out-of-date items from the inventory.
  • Enter medical supply orders in the pharmacy system.
  • Communicate with customers (patients, clinics, caregivers, physicians) in an amicable and professional manner.
  • Process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
  • Input patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy information management system.
  • Maintain knowledge of and abide by all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • High school degree or equivalent preferred.
  • State Pharmacy Technician license/registration required.
  • National pharmacy technician certification if applicable.
  • IV experience preferred.
  • In-patient hospital pharmacy experience highly preferred.
  • Flexibility in working schedule.
  • Ability to work in a group.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Strong customer service skills required.
  • Comfortable performing repetitive motions/tasks.
  • Ability to manage several tasks at the same time.
