Mathematics Educator for Middle and Upper Grades
Full-Time, Faculty Role
The Michigan School Public Relations Association seeks a dedicated educator to inspire and engage gifted students in a dynamic learning environment.
As a mathematics educator, you will create and implement curriculum that aligns with educational standards while catering to the unique needs of advanced learners. A strong passion for mathematics and teaching is crucial. The ideal candidate will thrive in diverse classrooms, ensuring that every student is respected and valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver multiple sections of mathematics instruction tailored to the needs of gifted middle and upper school students, focusing primarily on middle school mathematics and Algebra I, with the potential to teach advanced courses such as Calculus and AP classes.
- Employ a variety of teaching and assessment strategies, integrating technology effectively.
- Collaborate with fellow faculty members in the mathematics department to develop and document curriculum.
- Assess students on an individual basis, providing comprehensive reports that emphasize holistic development.
- Communicate student progress to parents through various means, including conferences and progress reports.
- Maintain open lines of communication with colleagues and administration.
- Act as an advisor for a middle school homeroom.
- Work collaboratively with faculty across the Middle and Upper School on school-wide initiatives, supporting the educational mission through participation in meetings, committees, events, and field trips.

- Foster the social and emotional growth of students, nurturing their development with care and attention to their individual needs.
- Implement the school’s educational philosophy in classroom instruction and interactions with students and staff.
- Build collaborative relationships with colleagues.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education, Education, or a related field, along with three to five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Master’s degree is preferred.
