• Effectively mix and match various types of paint.
• Demonstrate appropriate usage of paint brushes thinner and other tools and equipment.
• Inspect walls and decide on the number of paint coats required.
• Maintain quality and standards of work.
• Apply paint stain varnish enamel and other finishes to equipment buildings and/or other structures using brushes spray guns or rollers.
• Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces such as bare wood or metal for finish coats.
• Mix and match colors of paint stain or varnish with oil and thinning and drying additives to obtain desired colors and consistencies.
• Fills nail holes joints and cracks in walls with plaster or other filler.
• Covers surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and removes fixtures such as pictures door knobs lamps and electric switch covers prior to painting.
• Calculate amounts of required materials and estimate costs based on surface measurements and/or work orders.
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Requisition new painting supplies and equipment.
