Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Administrative Analyst I to join our team at the City of Grand Rapids. This is an advanced professional role that provides administrative support services to a department head or other administrative position in the City Clerk's Office and City Commission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to department heads and administrative positions
  • Serve as staff liaison to various departmental divisions, programs, and outside agencies
  • Develop, coordinate, and manage special projects
  • Supervise subordinate support staff
  • Execute specific supportive functions during local, state, and federal elections
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, government, or related field
  • Two years of progressively responsible professional experience in public or private sector management, preferably in local government
  • Considerable knowledge of local government functions and operations
  • Ability to communicate effectively through all communication modes
  • Proven ability to investigate and resolve complaints
  • Ability to analyze difficult and complex issues and make recommendations for proper actions
