Special Education Instructor

Under the direction of the Director of Student Support Services and Special Education, the Special Education Teacher provides an instructional program for preschool pupils with special needs, ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Job Description / Essential Elements:
The Special Education Teacher will work under the direction of the Program Coordinator to provide an instructional program for pupils with severe learning disabilities, collaborating with the Educational Assessment Services to ensure regular class placement is impossible.
Sample Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide consultation and information to parents and staff members to ensure a collaborative approach to supporting pupils with special needs.
- Coordinate exceptional needs in the resource specialist program, ensuring pupils receive the necessary support to succeed.
- Monitor pupil progress and participate in program review, making data-driven decisions to inform instruction.
- Prepare mandated reports and documents required, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
Qualifications:
A valid Special Ed Credential or Education Specialist credential authorizing service with preschool-age students is required.
Requirements / Qualifications
A resume, two recent letters of recommendation, a copy of the Education Specialist Instruction Credential, and Autism Spectrum Disorder Authorization and English Language Learner Authorization are required.
