We are seeking a skilled Production Manager to lead our packaging operations at our Chalmette, LA facility.

About the Role:

As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for directing sugar production operations on shift, ensuring Good Manufacturing Practices and safe operating procedures. You will meet or exceed production targets, quality standards, and regulatory compliance through supervision of approximately 30-40 hourly employees in a unionized setting.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Achieve results through subordinates in a unionized environment.
  • Meet or exceed standard production rates while maintaining compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Lead assigned teams in the continuous improvement process.
  • Conduct regular shift meetings regarding safety, production, quality, and other important information.
  • Analyze production requirements to estimate worker hours and create production schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
  • Compute amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and material requirements from storage area.
  • Ensure quality of finished products by adhering to company policies, procedures, and specifications, making any necessary corrections to the packaged product to produce a safe quality-final product.
  • Coordinate the flow of materials into and out of the production areas for distribution in accordance with production schedule.
  • Conduct safety audits and ensure that all safety requirements are met.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices is required.
  • Minimum of 3-years experience in an industrial food manufacturing/production environment supervising union employees is strongly preferred.
  • Industrial background, computer, PLC programming, mechanical troubleshooting, and management supervisory skills are required.
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Electrical Sciences/Technical field is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
