Position Summary:

The IT Operations Analyst plays a pivotal role in advancing the strategic technology roadmap and ensuring seamless integration of Core Banking systems and supplementary applications. This position encompasses essential system support functions, overseeing the implementation and upkeep of Core Banking solutions and associated platforms. Responsibilities also extend to providing software and hardware assistance while ensuring comprehensive documentation is maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Facilitating the daily operations of core banking functions and related applications.
  • Documenting procedures and maintaining resource documentation, including system modifications for troubleshooting and compliance purposes.
  • Contributing to the development of new offerings and processes on core banking platforms by providing expert insights on specifications and requirements.
  • Analyzing and implementing process automation using job scheduling tools.
  • Managing core banking system releases, AIX patching, service pack installations, system backups, recovery processes, and routine maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinating testing and communication of system updates for core banking systems and key ancillary applications.
  • Delivering first and second-level technical support and addressing incidents as necessary.
  • Providing escalated helpdesk support, ensuring adherence to key performance indicators for resolution, and effectively communicating root causes for helpdesk inquiries.
  • Championing a standardized methodology for project and change management.
  • Overseeing configurations and modifications for secure file transfer processes and Windows operating environments.
  • Conducting timely network troubleshooting to identify and resolve common network issues.
  • Monitoring server performance and addressing server-related challenges.
  • Acting as a liaison between Municipal Credit Union and technology vendors during system troubleshooting.
  • Monitoring the status of integrated core systems, including online banking and voice response systems.
  • Supervising automated job statuses and taking corrective actions for any errors encountered.
  • Supporting initiatives to ensure continuous availability of business applications.
  • Working in shifts as required.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or certification in Computer Science or a related technical field is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Systems Analyst, preferably within the financial sector.
  • Proficient knowledge of AIX systems.
  • Familiarity with JHA products or equivalent solutions.
  • Experience with core banking platforms such as Symitar, Spectrum, or DNA.
  • Experience in administering IBM P Series and VIOS systems.
  • Current knowledge of Windows environments, secure FTP processing, and TCP/IP networking.
  • Strong understanding of personal computing systems.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • 2+ years of experience in the financial services industry with a solid grasp of financial principles and regulations.
  • Experience with core banking platforms like Symitar, Spectrum, and others is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with job scheduling tools like Opcon.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, and SharePoint.
  • Demonstrating high ethical standards.
