Job Summary

The Meat Cutter is responsible for ensuring the meat department operates at the highest standards, driving sales and maximizing profitability. This role requires delivering exceptional customer service and satisfaction by following the company's meat merchandising plan and trimming/preparing standard cuts of meat as outlined in the Meat Cutter Resource Manual.

Responsibilities
  • Cuts and packages authorized beef, pork, and poultry items according to Save A Lot policies and procedures
  • Prepares and places meat cuts and products in the display counter according to Save A Lot procedures to ensure they appear attractive and appealing to customers
  • Assists with product ordering and receiving, inspecting, and storing meat upon delivery to maintain the cold chain and ensure meat quality
  • Ensures excellent sanitation and quality standards are met daily, adhering to Save A Lot policy
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Experience safely using manual pallet jacks, hand tools, and power equipment, including knives, wrappers, scales, slicers, cubing machine, and power saw (certified to cut meat) preferred
  • Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs
