POSITION SUMMARY:
- Formulate and implement purchasing strategies while overseeing the procurement team in their daily operations of sourcing suppliers and obtaining products, equipment, and services.
- This position will also be responsible for managing receiving and inventory functions to ensure all procurement, receiving, and inventory activities are executed accurately, including processing payments.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related discipline.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- At least 4 years of cumulative experience in Procurement, inventory management, and receiving operations.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in leadership and team management.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Comprehensive knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Mathematical proficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing and executing procurement strategies.
- Overseeing daily purchasing, receiving, and inventory operations, delegating tasks to team members.
- Managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, pricing, and timelines.
- Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and necessary documentation.
- Collaborating with inventory management to assess and fulfill inventory needs.
- Supervising procurement for manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Ensuring all purchased goods meet established quality standards and specifications.
- Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets.
- Improving purchasing systems and processes.
- Training new personnel on procurement procedures and system functionalities.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
- Effective planning and organizational capabilities.
- Ability to work independently.
