Job Title: Nurse Practitioner

Stony Brook Southampton Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing primary care services to adults and children.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments of pediatric and adult patients
  • Establish medical diagnoses by thorough history taking and physical examination
  • Order, perform, and evaluate diagnostic studies, prescribe and regulate medications and treatments
  • Manage and follow-up on care plans within the protocols and practice privileges approved by the Medical Director
  • Document data and findings from physical examinations, diagnostic studies, visits, and phone calls comprehensively
Qualifications:
  • NYS Licensed Nurse Practitioner/NYS Physician Assistant License required
  • National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants certification required
  • Family Medicine certification preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience in a primary care practice setting

Stony Brook Southampton Hospital is a smoke-free environment. Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on campus, including parking lots and outdoor areas. All Hospital positions may be subject to changes in pass days and shifts as necessary. This position may require the wearing of respiratory protection, which may prohibit the wearing of facial hair. This function/position may be designated as essential. Prior to start date, the selected candidate must meet the following requirements: successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services, complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references, successfully complete a 4-panel drug screen, meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings, provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s). Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.
