Job Summary

The City of North Liberty is seeking a highly skilled Finance Officer to join their team. This full-time position will be responsible for coordinating the City's financial activities, including budgeting, payables, receivables, debt issuance, investments, and purchasing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the City's financial activities, including budgeting, payables, receivables, debt issuance, investments, and purchasing.
  • Ensure the City meets its financial obligations and compliance.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to the City Council and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial alignment with the City's strategic goals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in municipal finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of municipal or public accounting, fund accounting, and modified accrual accounting.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
