ROLE SUMMARY:
The Activity Therapist is tasked with evaluating individual patient requirements as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary treatment team. The focus is on improving the mental health and overall wellbeing of patients through engaging therapeutic and recreational activities. This position will work closely with the clinical team to weave recreational and activity-based interventions into the overall treatment strategy, emphasizing education, skill development, and active participation in recovery-oriented activities. The role encompasses a variety of physical, social, and creative programming aimed at fostering patient recovery, resilience, and autonomy.
Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or a related discipline is required.
2. A Master's degree in Recreational Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
1. A minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in a psychiatric environment is preferred.
2. At least one year of experience implementing activity therapy techniques is also preferred.
