Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan. As a member of our patient care services team, you will provide technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform designated respiratory procedures, including aerosol treatment, cough and deep breathing exercises, meter dose inhalation treatments, tracheotomy care, and pulse oximetry
  • Collect specimens, perform phlebotomy, and monitor blood glucose levels
  • Assist with post-mortem care and interact with patients and family members
  • Report changes in patient medical and/or emotional condition to the registered nurse
  • Document interventions and patient responses according to policy
  • Prepare and administer medications to patients per policy and procedure
  • Assist in the training/orientation of other licensed practical nurses, associates, and care team members
Requirements
  • Graduation from a school of practical nursing
  • Ability to work under the supervision of a registered nurse
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
