Job Title: Storage Solutions Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Storage Solutions Engineer to join our team at IGT. As a Storage Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing data storage systems, processes, and enhancements for our complex systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply a systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable approach for modifications of existing applications, simple changes, reports, and requests for services with minimal supervision.
  • Design and develop data storage systems, processes, and enhancements for our complex systems.
  • Lead the design of production storage environments.
  • Participate in group design discussions and be expected to understand basic storage design.
  • Develop solutions and processes for reliable and stable data storage management, security, backup restoration, archiving, and replication.
  • Require only minor supervision to troubleshoot and make repairs on storage-related incidents.
  • Basic proficiency in software development, software design, software testing, software maintenance, software configuration management, software engineering tools, and software quality.
  • Assist with the implementation of new or additional storage technology to improve infrastructure service locally and remotely.
  • Document processes and procedures related to the implementation and maintenance of storage solutions.
  • Demonstrate a relentless commitment to meeting and exceeding customers' expectations while also achieving the goal of reducing the risks and costs of providing services.
  • Work to build an effective partnership with the internal customer on a daily basis. Listen to customers and ask the appropriate questions to determine their requirements.
  • Collaborate with other parts of the organization as required to first share and analyze customer requirements and then develop and implement the best strategy and processes to meet those requirements.
  • Ensure that customers' concerns or service level incidents are addressed promptly and efficiently by personally troubleshooting and implementing solutions or escalating to the appropriate member of management.
  • Participate in the project management of storage solutions.
  • Schedule, plan, and perform periodic scheduled maintenance and tuning activities to optimize performance.
  • Recommend, implement, and measure best practices for storage solutions.
  • Adhere to service level agreements by following established SLA performance requirements.
  • Adhere to IT best practices by following established IT best practice performance.
  • Adhere to Incident Management process.
  • Adhere to Change Management process.
  • Adhere to Release Management process and perform assigned release actions.
  • Adhere to Audit Management process and procedures and perform assigned actions to capture audit evidence criteria.
  • Complete special projects with minimum to no assistance from Manager.
  • Participate in individual professional development by completing an individual development plan, participating in mentoring activities, tracking and reporting of development, and communicating career path goals and objectives.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and coaching to assigned resources.

Qualifications:

  • Opportunity located in West Greenwich, RI.
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent work experience/certifications.
  • Years of Experience: Practical industry experience or have experience in collegiate storage solution projects.
  • Minimum technical knowledge and skills:
    • Comprehensive knowledge of Office suite and PC operating systems.
    • Advanced ability to detect, analyze, troubleshoot, and escalate system and server incidents.
    • Advanced ability to forecast, recommend, and implement capacity planning.
    • Displays strong technical writing skills and presents information in a professional and engaging manner.
    • Promotes teamwork and cooperation and builds strong relationships at all levels. Effectively collaborates and negotiates.
    • Organizes and plans work effectively. Balances priorities among stakeholders.
    • Effectively resolves moderately complex issues by reviewing and analyzing related information, diagnosing, evaluating options, and implementing solutions. Exhibits sound business judgment and exhibits common sense.
    • Completes work in a thorough, accurate, well-thought-out, and timely manner and with attention to detail.

  • Best Practices:
    • Intermediate level - ITIL best practices and associated tools related to Incident, Change, Release, Audit, and Problem Management.

    • NetApps.

Compensation and Benefits: At IGT, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $44,450 - $103,002. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable. Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses. In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance. Note: programs are subject to eligibility requirements.
