Job Overview:

The Phlebotomist is accountable for executing phlebotomy procedures along with various technical, non-technical, and administrative tasks. This facility conducts on-site results for specific Point of Care (POC) testing. The Phlebotomist should be adept at collecting asymptomatic COVID swabs, conducting Strep tests, and performing urine dip tests and pregnancy tests. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Successful completion of an accredited Phlebotomy program, including clinical training with a minimum of 100 blood draws, or a minimum of 6 months of relevant healthcare experience involving direct patient interaction.
  • Prior experience in a clinical laboratory or phlebotomy environment, including inpatient and outpatient blood draws, is preferred.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
  • A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:

  • ASCP certification is preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Proficiency in reading and writing to understand and follow equipment operating instructions, IFUs, and complete necessary documentation.
  • Basic arithmetic skills are essential for counting instruments and completing count sheets.
  • Competence in computer usage, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills are necessary.
