Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Baptist Health System KY & IN. As a Medical Laboratory Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently perform, interpret, validate, and correlate tests as ordered by physicians by following approved departmental procedures and regulatory agencies.
  • Determine if test results meet quality control program requirements and repeat tests as necessary to ensure results are approved for reporting.
  • Utilize complex problem-solving skills to resolve clinical and instrument problems.

Requirements:

  • Enforce hospital policies and maintain department efficiency and proficiency.
  • Ensure image quality assurance.
  • Implement quality control in the work area.
  • Execute patient care duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or a related science field is required.
  • Certified or eligible for certification in clinical laboratory science by recognized certifying agencies. Certification must be achieved within one year of hire.
  • Membership in a professional organization is highly desirable but not mandatory.
