Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse - Burn Med Surg Float Pool to join our team. As a Float Pool Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing, and coordinating a treatment plan for patients in the Med Surg and/or ICU departments. You will work collaboratively with the patient, their family, and other healthcare team members to achieve positive patient and departmental outcomes.
Responsibilities- Maintain overall accountability for assigned patients
- Understand patients with critical illness and vent management if in the ICU
- Manage efficient flow of patients, including screening, preparation for exam, providing general nursing care, and arranging or testing and admissions
- Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions
- Maintain and review patients' records, including posting tests and examination results
- Administer medications in accordance with physician orders
- Check rooms daily for necessary supplies
- Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls, including phone triage when needed
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required
- Must have at least: two (2) year full time equivalent Acute Care RN experience in designated area - Less than 2 years of experience requires approval by the CNO
