Job Overview

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive municipal attorney with substantial experience to provide comprehensive legal services to various municipalities. This role requires a strong understanding of municipal law and the ability to work independently while collaborating with a partner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel to municipalities on a broad spectrum of municipal regulations, including land use, development, and special districts.
  • Assist in the negotiation, drafting, and revision of legal agreements, including real estate transactions and economic development incentives.
  • Draft and revise municipal codes, ordinances, and resolutions to ensure compliance with legal standards.
  • Collaborate with developers and municipal staff to guide new projects and annexation processes.
  • Conduct thorough research on municipal ordinances and state laws.
  • Review and approve agendas in accordance with applicable government codes.

Qualifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing.
  • A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in municipal law is required.
