Cargomatic is a technology-driven leader in the logistics and freight transportation industry, dedicated to delivering data-backed, efficient, and reliable services to our customers.
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist with a strong financial analytics background to join our Finance team.
This role will focus on building and managing dashboards that provide critical insights into Cargomatic's financial performance, cost structure, and operational metrics.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain Tableau dashboards that monitor key financial and operational metrics, including revenue, costs, and profitability
- Work closely with the FP&A and finance teams to develop dashboards that align with business goals and provide real-time visibility into financial performance
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy within dashboards, updating them regularly to reflect the latest financial data and insights
- Conduct detailed analyses of financial data, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities to improve financial performance
- Support FP&A efforts by providing insights into revenue streams, cost drivers, and profitability, helping to inform budget planning and forecasting
- Perform ad hoc financial analyses and create reports as requested by leadership to support strategic initiatives and decision-making
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred
- 3+ years of experience in data science, financial analytics, or a similar role with a focus on financial data
- Advanced proficiency with Tableau and experience in creating finance-focused dashboards that deliver key business insights
- Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling, data analysis, and an understanding of core FP&A principles
- Proficient in SQL for database querying, with familiarity in Python or R for data manipulation and analysis being a plus
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
